ANYTHING TO HELP OUT AN OLD FRIEND...

Munguin kindly agreed to do some
publicity for Mr Salmond's book
...So he kept a copy for himself.
But, seriously, big thank you to Alex Salmond for being a great sport with Munguin, and for an interesting evening talking about this book, the referendum campaign, and the future. Even if you didn't agree with his politics, he has to be one of the most engaging speakers you've ever heard.

  1. Tris: I love the picture. Mr. Munguin is always so accommodating with people who want their picture taken with him. ;-))

    1. Yew, Danny. He is certainly generous with his time. Even if he had pressing engagements to fulfil last night, the little fella still took time out to do a bit of publicity for an old friend. He even introduced him to me!!!

  2. A real treat for Munguin. For sure.

But here I was hoping for Munguin's hot-tipped review of the book!

    1. Well, it was rally a treat for Mr Salmond, but ....

Munguin says he will get round to reading the book, and possibly write a few words here and there, but he is a very small animal ... and the words are quite big!

  3. And doesn't the greatest living Scot look so much healthier now the burden has been lifted from his shoulders? And Eck's looking younger too :) .

    1. His schedule is still pretty awesome Anon.

He arrived late at Dundee Uni, due to having been kept back signing books in Glasgow. He talked and answered questions for a couple of hours and then set about signing a few hundred all over again.

People were queuing for an hour and more to get a book signed.

The he and Mrs Salmond had to get back home to Aberdeenshire.

Munguin was exhausted just hearing about his schedule...

  4. Well Mungiuin and Tris you deserve the highest praise, and I should also say the recognition you certainly have worked for. In my household we always comment that Pictures are so strong they tell the story immediately whilst you have to read words. Both you and Alex have worked your socks of to make our country independent. (Free)

    1. We thank you, Helena...

Pictures are good, I think, to get messages across.

We have to read so many things, and unless it's written particularly engagingly, a p[age of text can be off putting.

Pics are just that... easy to digest.

I'm inclined, though, to think that Alex may have worked just a WEE bit harder than me for Scotland...

I think we are incredibly lucky to have him.

  5. Congratulations to Munguin for finding time within his busy daily schedule to agree to let the former First Minister share his limelight for a photo. Not every great worldly wise Penguin would be so accomodating. LOL

To be honest Tris, if you had seen some of the photos from the SECC after the conference I think, like me, you'd have been surprised that he managed to get away from there before midnight. The photos I saw it definitely looked likje he would be there for DAYS not hours. LOL

    1. Thanks Arbroath. It was hard for him to find the time, but as he said, you have to make sacrifices sometimes... and when he said YOU, he meant ME!

I know. Everyone wanted his signature there as well... His hand must be in agony!
