RANDOM THOUGHTS

Well, would you?
Where on earth did they find him?

If you wrote a farce based on these people, producers would tell you to go away and try again.
The will of the Scottish people they are always on about seems to be of  much less importance sometimes.
British Rights. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Oxymoronic.
Pretty much sums it up.
I'm sure Kez is on it now.
I tweeted this to the Met.  If Wings is in trouble for calling the McFadyen hack  from the Daily Diana 'a disgrace', shouldn't these people be in prison for plotting assassination? Certainly, I'd be wanting to know what Kemp had cooking.
Says the man who's never been right about anything, ever. A failure on several continents. I bet when someone asks if he wants tea or coffee he calls it wrong!

  4. I think the reverse Union argument trumps even the reverse Greenland one and much more should have been made of it during the 2014 referendum.
Who in their right mind, which excludes most of the Britnats, would volunteer to sign up for these benefits.
However,Scottish independence is about change and HM government and press have been able to divert attention from these issues to fantasies such as bombing our airports, being forced to use"foreign" currency etc etc.
    Not for much longer.

    1. Yes, true. It's incredible how ridiculous it seems when you reverse it.

    2. Heck, there was wide opposition to forming the Union at the time. Indeed, they even attempted it no less than FOUR times - 1606, 1667, 1689 and finally 1706.

Forming the United Kingdom was literally a century-long project. It finally succeeded after the Darien disaster, with English troops stationed in north England and gold to the parcel of rogues. Riots took place over a month in Glasgow and elsewhere.

Let's just hope we don't have to wait 61 years for our second go.

      Delete
    3. I've always thought the union was like, giving your hard earned wages to your neighbour and waiting for your pocket money back, at their discretion; nobody in their right mind would do such a thing.

      Delete
    4. If my memory serves me right even after the signing of the Act of Union in 1707 there were riots all over Scotland for around two years. It got so bad that the (still) English army was sent to Scotland to put down the riots and protests.

I believe the first riot/protest actually took place in Dumfries which included a symbolic burning of the Act.

    5. It was incredibly unpopular with ordinary people. But of course the only people who mattered were the nobles and they were bought and sold for English gold, as the man said.

      Parcel of rogues.

After the crap that's come out of the Tory party conference this weekend, how could anyone want to be a part of this racist nation.

      What next ...yellow stars?

I must admit I have been disgusted by the Labour purge of members. The more I have read and seen on social media I am starting to think that the people saying Tom Watson is pulling the srings from behind are spot on. One guy was writing that he thought Tom Watson was just playing the long game for another challenge one year out from the next GE once they have loaded the NEC and the Shadow Cabinet with who they want by bringing back elections. Bunch of b's if you ask me.

    1. Watson? Another charisma free zone, Bruce.

It would serve them right if they had another one and this time he won by 80-20!

I see most of the right wingers stayed away from his speech, Bruce, including, I heard, Kezia. So much for getting behind him!

But then she said that yesterday so it was bound to have changed by today.

  6. Dumb question, but does anyone know the formal requirements for the source of the article 50 notification?

Just wondering if some "concerned citizens" could send it, and go over May's head, as it were.

    1. LOL

      Dear EU,

Please invoke Article 50 on Monday and pu us out of our misery.

      Love

      Munguin.

No Illy. I imagine that it is either the head of government or the head of state. If it is to be done by royal prerogative rather than vote of parliament then I imagine either the Queen or the prime minister on her behalf will have to sign the letter.

I suppose it might be Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs... that is to say Bozo. In which case it might be safer to let Munguin do it, dontya think?

Seriously, I very much doubt a concerned citizen could do it. What if another concerned citizen wrote the next day and said ...no no no... it was my mad old uncle and he's batty!!! (Although that could apply to Bozo!)

      Delete
    2. I couldn't find a link but I believe the letter has to be delivered by someone who is permitted to represent the UK at the EU Council of Ministers. That could actually be any UK Minister but I would imagine the Prime Minster might do this herself, given the gravity of the situation. Please god, not Bozo. Life is already getting embarrassing over here now that his renown is expanding outside the UK.

Bozo recently said A50 would happen in May. Plenty of press reports suggest January, just to add to the mix. Numerous ongoing legal cases, though, might make it politically hard to pull the trigger. Could these really stop the Prime Minister? Bloody heck, this is like waiting for a root canal.

      Delete
    3. Perhaps this might help Illy.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_50_of_the_Treaty_on_European_Union

Under "Member state invocation" you will find this:

""The notification of article 50 is a formal act and has to be done by the British government to the European council," an EU official told Reuters."

To me this would seem to imply that a government Secretary of State, minister or even Prime Minister herself would be the person involved in the delivery of the Article 50 notification.

Personally I prefer Tris's suggestion, Munguin uses such class in all his writings. LOL

  7. So, Wee Boris the Doris opens his gob ... AGAIN *YAWN* and says that Britain will launch its E.U. exit negotiations early next year and ... *WHAM* ... he gets his knuckles rapped ... AGAIN. (no doubt)

    I'm curious.

Maggie mark II has been telling anyone who will listen ... Guy Verhofstadt, Donald Tusk, Martin McGuinness etc, that she will initiate the Article 50 negotiations in the early part of 2017.

    Hmm.

Is it me or am I missing something here?

What ... exactly ... is the difference between Maggie Mark II say this and wee Boris the Doris saying EXACTLY the same thing?

I've just had a wee thought. Perhaps wee Boris the Doris didn't get his knuckles rapped for saying WHEN the Article 50 negotiations would start but that they would take LESS than 2 years. Yes that MUST be it otherwise we will surely read about Maggie Mark II getting HER knuckles rapped just like wee Boris the Doris! LOL

  8. Maybe she's not aware that 2017 and next year are one and the same.

It is to be hoped that your 'pro-union' campaign is given maximum publicity by the Yes campaign and would add that Scotland would contribute a share of HS2, refurbishment and maintenance of the House of Commons/Lords etc etc and other investment in London and the South-east.
